Role Overview As a Security Consultant you act as the guardian of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, protecting organizations from evolving threats. You will assess, analyze, and implement security measures in client environments, collaborate closely with customers, and design robust security controls. Responsibilities Assess and analyze the current security posture of customer environments. Provide expert guidance and recommendations on best security practices, risk‑management strategies, and security policies. Design and implement security controls, policies, and procedures. Deploy and manage security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access controls, and encryption. Conduct thorough security assessments, audits, and reviews; produce detailed reports for management decisions. Continuously monitor emerging threats, technologies, and industry best practices to recommend enhancements to security posture. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on secure design of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications. Participate in security assessments, audits, and due‑diligence activities with customers and vendors. Required Skills and Experience Minimum of 5+ years in information security consulting and implementation, with a strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies. Experience managing risks related to processing, storing, or transmitting information to reduce or eliminate impact on integrity or availability. Experience conducting security and risk assessments using frameworks such as NIST, RMF, or Common Criteria. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex security concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences. Ability to adapt to changing security threats and technologies and stay updated with the latest trends and best practices. Preferred Skills and Experience Past experience quantifying risks and developing mitigation and remediation strategies. Understanding and application of the NIST Control Framework, Critical Security Controls, and other regulatory and compliance frameworks. Experience with cloud security, cyber resiliency/incident management, Zero Trust, network/EDGE security, and emerging technologies such as Io T and AI.
