Within the **Cyber & Security Solutions Area**, we are looking for a **Digital Technology Researcher** in the **Digital Laboratory** for our Rome Laurentina office.**The person will be responsible for the following activities:** Conduct advanced research and design “security by design” solutions concerning the protection of infrastructures and data through the study and development of robust security protocols, with a focus on zero trust architecture, cloud, edge, IoT and data centric security.* Conduct market research and analysis of technological trends to identify new development opportunities and keep the company competitive in the digital sector.* Define research and development plans for technologies in relation to the Digital solutions and products of the Cyber & Security Solutions division of Leonardo S.P.A.* Plan, coordinate and manage research and development projects in the digital field, ensuring compliance with timelines, budget and corporate objectives.* Work closely with other corporate functions (e.G. Product Management, Engineering, Innovation, Marketing, Strategy and Sales) ensuring the alignment of the Digital laboratory's activities with the needs, initiatives and objectives of the corporate division.*REQUIREMENTS:***Education:** Preferably a doctorate in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Security, or a Master's Degree in the same disciplines with proven experience in the Security & Privacy domain.**Seniority:** Several years of experience in similar roles (at least 2-5 years in the position), with a proven ability to manage research and development projects in the digital security field.**Technical knowledge and skills:*** Solid knowledge of cryptography (symmetric, asymmetric, hashing functions, key exchange and negotiation protocols).* Proven experience in the analysis and design of security protocols for IoT, Cloud and Edge Computing.* In-depth knowledge of zero trust security models and data centric security technologies.* Familiarity with Confidential Computing technologies and hardware/software protection mechanisms (e.G. TEE).* Ability to use tools for formal protocol analysis, and penetration testing techniques.* Knowledge of wireless technologies (WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, NB-IoT, etc.) and their security vulnerabilities.* Basic experience with software defined radio (SDR) for research and testing activities.* Analyze and evaluate wireless technologies used in IoT and edge environments.**Behavioral skills:*** Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking and Problem Solving, with a results-oriented approach.* Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively with team members, with cross-functional groups or external stakeholders. Public speaking skills, techniques and experiences are particularly appreciated.* The candidate must have interpersonal skills, time and priority management, aptitude for team-working, adaptability, empathy, stress management, self-motivation.**Language skills:**English (C1 – reading, writing, listening, speaking)**Computer skills:*** Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Edge technologies* Experience in using Confidential Computing enabling technologies* Programming Languages (C, C++, Rust, Python, …)**Other (e.G.
