Information Technology Officer (Digital Solutions, ERP)

Responsibilities
- Provide expertise for implementation or evolution of key digital solutions, including business changes and technology/infrastructure upgrades.
- Ensure timely delivery, support, continuous improvement and adherence to best practice technical and security standards.
- Plan, manage and deliver digital services and technology solutions to ensure reliable and effective support to organizational requirements.
- Manage assigned programme of work, ensuring alignment with strategic vision and enterprise architecture, and address interdependencies or gaps.
- Represent CSI Division in stakeholder discussions and negotiate contractual and service agreements.
- Promote and implement service improvement programmes and initiatives to meet dynamic business needs.
- Monitor, audit and report on service performance to foresee, identify and address areas of risk, ensuring compliance with service level expectations.
- Manage the IT solutions life cycle from business needs analysis to delivery, ongoing support and maintenance in line with policies, standards and procedures.
- Manage financial and human resources for assigned projects.
- Identify, assess and manage risks, proposing mitigation activities as required.
- Promote cross‑functional information sharing and collaboration with other teams and business units.
- Identify resource requirements, develop budgets and work plans, and advocate for additional human resources.
- Coordinate initiatives under the Corporate Environmental Responsibility Strategy to reduce emissions, increase efficiency and integrate sustainability into daily operations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Coordinate teams to maintain and support FAO's ERP environment and related satellite systems as per agreed service levels.
- Lead continuous improvement of the ERP environment in cooperation with key users, ensuring it meets business requirements and technical standards.
- Identify opportunities for process automation using Oracle eBusiness Suite, Oracle Fusion Cloud modules, low‑code platforms, Salesforce, ServiceNow, RPA, AI, and other technologies.
- Lead modernization of legacy applications, replacing functionalities with corporate platform capabilities.
- Liaise with infrastructure providers and software/vendors to resolve issues related to upgrades, implementation, migration, or bug fixes.
- Identify security risks and collaborate with the FAO CISO to ensure remediation actions and controls are implemented.
- Maintain Business Continuity Plans in consultation with stakeholders.
- Ensure change management and release management processes are strictly followed.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, information systems, software engineering, electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, statistics, business management or a related field.
- Seven years of relevant experience managing teams, IT and business processes in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), preferably based on e‑Business Suite and/or Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
- Proficiency (level C) in English and intermediate proficiency (level B) in another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
Technical and Functional Skills
- Experience in multiple locations or work areas, especially in field positions.
- Experience managing large‑scale ERP environments, preferably in a public sector or international organisation.
- Experience in business process automation using ERP (Oracle eBusiness Suite or similar).
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and ServiceNow is an asset.
- Experience managing highly skilled teams in a hybrid cross‑platform environment.
- Experience managing business stakeholders and technology partners.
- Experience providing services to clients.
- Knowledge or certification in ITIL is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting reports and documents in required languages.
- Experience in Corporate Environmental Responsibility is an asset.
Conditions of Service
- Extension of fixed‑term appointments is based on performance certification and availability of funds.
- FAO reserves the right not to make an appointment.
- Appointment is subject to certification of medical fitness, accreditation, residency or visa requirements and security clearances.
