Overview
Information Technology Officer (Digital Solutions, ERP) for the Digital FAO and Agro‑Informatics Division (CSI). Full‑time, fixed term of two years with possibility of extension, based at FAO headquarters, Rome, Italy.
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and deliver digital services and technology solutions to support the organization’s business requirements and ensure reliable, secure system operation.
- Provide technical expertise for the implementation and evolution of ERP solutions based on Oracle eBusiness Suite, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Salesforce, ServiceNow and other platforms.
- Lead continuous improvements and modernisation of the ERP environment, including process automation and low‑code solutions.
- Coordinate maintenance, upgrades, and bug‑fixes, liaising with internal teams, vendors and infrastructure providers.
- Manage the life cycle of assigned IT solutions, including analysis of business needs, delivery, support and maintenance in line with CSI policies and standards.
- Monitor service performance, conduct audits, and report on risks to ensure compliance with agreed service‑level expectations.
- Negotiate contractual and service agreements, and promote service improvement programmes.
- Manage financial and human resources for the assigned programme, develop budgets, and advocate for additional resources.
- Promote cross‑functional information sharing and collaboration with business teams and other CSI divisions.
- Coordinate initiatives related to the Corporate Environmental Responsibility Strategy.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, information systems, software engineering, electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, statistics, business management or a related field.
- Minimum seven years of relevant experience managing teams and business processes in enterprise resource planning (ERP), preferably Oracle eBusiness Suite or Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
- Proficiency in English (level C) and intermediate knowledge of a second FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
- Experience in managing large‑scale ERP environments in a public sector or international organization setting.
- Experience in business process automation, using ERP (Oracle eBusiness Suite or similar), and familiarity with Salesforce CRM and ServiceNow.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑platform, hybrid teams and collaborate with technology partners.
- Knowledge or certification in ITIL is an asset.
- Experience with corporate environmental responsibility initiatives is an asset.
