THE ROLE You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal. The Non coding RNAs in Physiology and Pathology Research Unit is coordinated by Irene Bozzoni. The research focuses on a project aimed at the molecular characterization of the function of non coding RNAs (ncRNA and circRNAs) in neuro-muscular districts both in physiological and pathological conditions. Within the research team, your main responsibilities will be:

Study the molecular basis of neuromuscular diseases with a particular interest in ALS. The molecular mechanism by which ncRNAs control proper MN homeostasis and how their deregulation correlates with pathological conditions.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

A PhD in Molecular Biology, or Genetics, or Biochemistry, or Cell Biology or similar disciplines Documented experience in methodologies related to the study of non coding RNA Strong publication record Good command of spoken and written English

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Experience in in situ analysis of RNA with specific attention to single molecule detection methodologies Characterization and function of ncRNAs and methods for the characterization of protein-RNA and RNA-RNA interactions. Knowledge on basic mechanisms controlled by ncRNAs. Ability to work in a challenging and international environment Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

A yearly gross salary ranging between 30.000 and 35.000 Candidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years.
