POSITION: PROCESS ENGINEER – MILAN
1. YOUR ROLE
You will be embedded within a leading EPC contractor operating in the Oil & Gas and energy sector in Milan, with a technical role in process engineering within a structured multidisciplinary team.
You will be responsible for the development and review of process engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards and client requirements.
You will serve as the technical reference for the process discipline, managing interfaces with other engineering disciplines and with the client.
You will contribute to the full engineering lifecycle, from FEED through detailed design and into procurement and construction support.
️ 2. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and review process engineering documents: P&IDs, PFDs, heat and material balances, process datasheets and equipment specifications.
Perform hydraulic calculations, line sizing and pressure drop analyses.
Prepare and review process simulation models using industry-standard software (HYSYS, PROII or equivalent).
Develop and maintain cause and effect diagrams, operating philosophies and process descriptions.
Interface with mechanical, instrumentation, piping and civil disciplines to ensure technical consistency across the project.
Support the preparation of technical requisitions (MR) and technical bid evaluations (TBE) for process equipment and packages.
Participate in HAZOP, HAZID and SIL studies, providing process discipline input.
Support construction and commissioning activities from a process engineering perspective.
Review and approve vendor documentation: datasheets, drawings and technical submittals.
✅ 3. REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related disciplines.
4+ years of proven experience as Process Engineer in Oil & Gas, petrochemical or industrial plant sectors.
Solid knowledge of process engineering deliverables: P&IDs, PFDs, datasheets, heat and material balances.
Experience with process simulation software (HYSYS, PROII or equivalent).
Good knowledge of relevant international standards and codes (API, ASME, ISO).
Familiarity with HAZOP/HAZID methodologies.
Professional English (written and spoken).
Working mode: hybrid — 4 days on-site in Milan + 1 day remote per week.
4. WHAT WE OFFER
The compensation for this role ranges between
€35.000 and €42.000 . The position is classified under the Italian National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Trade and Services sector applied by our company. Placement within the salary range will be determined based on technical skills, specific experience in the role, and the outcomes of the selection process, according to objective and neutral criteria. In the case of candidates with exceptional qualifications beyond the indicated range, a revision may be considered subject to internal approval.
