Programme Officer (Biodiversity Mainstreaming)

In this role you will support FAO’s biodiversity mainstreaming efforts across agricultural sectors, coordinating global and national activities. You will work with the Biodiversity team to implement initiatives like Agri-NBSAPs and mainstreaming projects, ensuring timely delivery and strong stakeholder engagement. You will provide policy analysis, develop technical tools, and help mobilize resources to scale biodiversity-friendly practices. This position offers the opportunity to shape FAO’s approach to biodiversity within agrifood systems at scale, in a cross-functional, international setting. Support planning, development and implementation of biodiversity mainstreaming projects across agricultural sectors Develop and maintain technical tools, methodologies and databases to support project delivery and monitoring Provide strategic policy and analytical support on biodiversity matters Coordinate budget and funding activities and prepare related program documents Assist in policy development and issue trend analysis for biodiversity mainstreaming Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analyses and sections of reports Undertake outreach, trainings, and presentations related to biodiversity projects Coordinate with FAO divisions to ensure synergies with thematic strategies and activities Monitor and report progress and results of biodiversity projects and manage stakeholder engagement Contribute to resource mobilization and support the selection of partners and service providers Provide guidance and backstopping to national project officers and consultants Develop knowledge-sharing materials and maintain project information webpages Develop project proposals and contribute to scaling biodiversity initiatives Provide advice to OCBB management on biodiversity matters and support FAO’s biodiversity work Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in natural resources management or related field Five years of relevant experience in project or programme management related to biodiversity and/or natural resources Working knowledge of English (C) and intermediate knowledge of another official FAO language (B) In this role you will support FAO’s biodiversity mainstreaming efforts across agricultural sectors, coordinating global and national activit…
