Responsibilities

  • Implement the design, execution, and independent research of innovative hair care formulations and scientific concepts, integrating novel approaches to enhance product efficacy and consumer appeal.
  • Be involved in cross-functional collaboration with R&D, marketing, supply chain teams, and academic or industry partners to translate scientific innovations into scalable, market-ready solutions.
  • Spearhead the deployment and continuous improvement of advanced analytical techniques, experimental protocols, and methodologies to optimize product performance, data accuracy, and reliability.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives by developing eco-friendly ingredients and processes aligned with corporate responsibility goals.
  • Ensure rigorous quality control and compliance throughout project lifecycles, including experimental design, data collection, interpretation, documentation, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Prepare, critically review, and communicate technical reports, scientific manuscripts, and regulatory submissions to maintain high standards of scientific communication.
  • Mentor junior scientists and foster a culture of continuous innovation, scientific curiosity, and subject matter expertise within the hair care development team.
  • Manage multiple complex projects, timelines, and resources effectively, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and emerging trends in cosmetic science to anticipate market needs and guide strategic product development.
  • Maintain meticulous records and ensure compliance with data retention policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific discipline
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in research and development within the hair care or personal care industry
  • Demonstrated experience working independently in a regulated laboratory environment, preferably within product development
  • Proficiency in cGMP compliance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in advanced formulation techniques, ingredient interactions, and regulatory compliance specific to hair care products
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to design and interpret complex experiments and analytical data
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis and familiarity with statistical software tools to support data-driven decision making
  • Experience with pilot scale equipment setup and operation
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities to influence cross-functional teams and drive project success
  • Passion for sustainability and innovation, with experience in developing environmentally responsible hair care solutions
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer preferences in the hair care market
  • Advanced skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and database documentation software
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while working autonomously
  • Demonstrated influence and leadership skills within cross-functional teams and scientific communities
  • Strong technical writing capabilities.
