Baccarat Hotel is coming to Rome and will be Baccarat’s first hotel in Europe. We are seeking a commercially driven Director of Sales to lead the sales strategy across all market segments and build a strong, high-performing sales platform from pre-opening through launch and beyond. This is a hands-on, sales-led role for an experienced luxury hotel sales leader who understands how to open a new market, build meaningful relationships, and convert opportunity into measurable business. Demonstrated expertise in the US and Arab markets is essential, together with strong pre-opening experience and the ability to lead a team through a fast-paced opening environment. As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing the hotel’s sales strategy across all key market segments, including leisure, corporate, group, entertainment, diplomatic, consortia, luxury travel trade and high-net-worth business. You will work closely and commercially alongside the Director of Marketing and Director of Revenue to ensure a fully aligned approach to market positioning, demand generation, pricing, pace, channel strategy and business mix. This role requires a leader who can build the sales engine from the ground up, establish Baccarat’s presence in Rome and key feeder markets, and create the structure, discipline and relationships needed to drive strong performance from day one. Lead the sales strategy and pre-opening sales plan for Baccarat Hotel Rome. Own all market segments, including luxury leisure, corporate, group, entertainment, consortia, diplomatic, agency, wholesale and partnership business. Develop and activate key feeder markets, with particular focus on the US and Arab markets. Build a clear account strategy, target list, sales cadence and production plan. Establish Baccarat’s trade presence across Europe, the Middle East, the US and other priority source markets. Drive proactive new business development and account penetration across all segments. Build and manage a disciplined sales pipeline, including CRM set-up, prospecting cadence, sales calls, reporting, conversion routines and performance tracking. Recruit, lead and develop the sales team, setting clear KPIs, standards and accountability. Partner closely with the Director of Marketing to align brand positioning, campaigns, partnerships and market activations with sales priorities. Collaborate with hotel operations to ensure sales promises are aligned with the guest experience. Represent Baccarat Hotel Rome with confidence and credibility in-market, at trade events, sales missions and key client meetings. Proven experience as a Director of Sales within luxury hotels. Pre-opening experience is essential, including building teams, systems, sales infrastructure and market presence from the ground up. Demonstrated expertise and established networks within the US and Arab markets. Strong understanding of all hotel market segments and the ability to drive performance across each. Experience working in a commercially integrated structure alongside Marketing and Revenue leaders. Strong luxury travel trade knowledge, including consortia, luxury advisors, agency relationships and high-value leisure networks. Proven ability to open new markets and build demand where a brand is not yet established. Strong leadership capability, with experience recruiting, developing and holding a sales team accountable. Commercial discipline, including CRM management, reporting, forecasting, targets and sales cadence. Rome or Italian market knowledge, with wider European feeder market experience highly valued.
