Key Account Manager – Oncology & Rare Diseases – Italy
We have an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager to join Norgine in Italy. This role reports to the Head of Commercial, Pediatric Oncology & Rare Diseases.
Role Purpose: The Key Account Manager will lead commercial activities for Norgine's rare disease portfolio within the assigned territory in Italy. The role requires strategic account planning, stakeholder engagement, market analysis, and strong cross‑functional collaboration to support successful product adoption in complex healthcare settings. Proven experience in rare disease launches is highly valued, together with a positive, constructive mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and a genuine team‑oriented approach.
Strategic Account Planning, Portfolio Growth and Market Development
Develop and execute robust sales strategies using an omnichannel approach, aligned with overall business objectives, including customer targeting, territory planning, and action plans agreed with the Head of Business Unit, while achieving sales targets and maximising portfolio performance through effective customer engagement, ensuring product availability, supporting inclusion in hospital formularies where relevant, and identifying new and existing business opportunities across the territory.
Apply your launch experience to develop regional account plans that support the successful introduction and sustainable growth of rare disease products.
Work closely with cross‑functional colleagues to develop and implement integrated account plans that maximise territory performance and support the achievement of sales and business KPIs.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
Build strong, credible relationships with healthcare decision‑makers and key influencers across the territory, advocating for Norgine's products through one‑to‑one meetings, group discussions, and participation in medical congresses.
Leverage existing knowledge and relationships within the rare disease and specialist care environment to support product uptake and stakeholder engagement.
Identify and lead local initiatives that position Norgine as a trusted partner and contribute to better patient outcomes.
Support the planning and execution of customer events and congress activities in line with business priorities and compliance standards.
Achieve sales targets and maximise portfolio performance through effective customer engagement, ensuring product availability, supporting inclusion in hospital formularies where relevant, and identifying new and existing business opportunities across the territory.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration and Teamwork
Work in a positive, constructive, and team‑oriented way with colleagues across medical, marketing, market access, and other functions to deliver the best possible outcomes for patients and customers.
Compliance and Conduct
Adhere strictly to local legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements, aligning with Norgine's code of conduct and standard operating procedures to ensure all activities meet the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
Ensure budget control and monitoring of local activities.
Experience and Qualifications
Demonstrated success in specialty pharmaceutical sales, with at least 3 years of recent experience in launching rare disease and/or oncology products.
Strong understanding of the Italian healthcare system, including key policies, access pathways, and decision‑making processes.
An established network within the rare disease and specialist healthcare community in Italy would be considered a strong advantage.
Education
Degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field.
