In this role you will lead and shape M&A activity in Italy as part of Elgin's Group Transactions function. You will own end-to-end transactions, from origination to execution, collaborating with the Italian team and the Dublin-based Head of Transactions. You will prepare strategic analyses and investment materials for the Investment Committee, guiding decisions in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. The position offers a high‑visibility opportunity to influence Italy’s market dynamics and contribute to Elgin’s growth strategy through proactive deal origination and rigorous due diligence.

  • Lead M&A activity in Italy, defining origination strategy and market positioning
  • Build a proactive pipeline of opportunities through relationships with developers, investors, and advisers
  • Own Italian transactions end-to‑end (M&A, divestments, JVs, capital recycling) aligned with the investment strategy
  • Prepare and present materials to senior management and the Investment Committee (papers, valuations, risk assessments)
  • Oversee commercial, financial and strategic due diligence with internal teams and external advisers
  • Negotiate transaction documentation with legal advisers focusing on risk, value protection and execution certainty
  • Act as execution lead and trusted partner to internal functions, escalating issues to Head of Transactions as needed

Responsabilità

  • Extensive experience in M&A/transactions, preferably in renewables, infrastructure or energy
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent)
  • Proven track record sourcing and closing transactions in Italy with relevant market navigation
  • Strong Italian network across developers, investors, advisers, and financiers
  • Deep understanding of Italian regulatory environment, permitting, incentives (e.G. FER), grid connection and offtake structures
  • Ability to drive origination and execution autonomously while aligning with governance
  • Excellent financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills
  • Deep understanding of deal structuring, risk allocation and transaction documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication at senior management and Investment Committee levels
  • Highly organized, commercially minded, thrives in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting
  • Fluent Italian and English
