Role Description
The Sales Director is a full-time, on-site role based at San Clemente Palace Venice in Venice. This position oversees the development and execution of sales strategies to maximize revenue across key market segments, including leisure, corporate, and group business. The Sales Director leads and mentors the sales team, sets performance targets, monitors results, and ensures adherence to brand and service standards. Daily responsibilities include managing key accounts, conducting sales visits and site inspections, negotiating contracts and rate agreements, and maintaining strong relationships with travel partners, agencies, and corporate clients. The role also involves analyzing market trends and competitors, preparing sales forecasts and reports, collaborating with marketing and revenue management, and representing the property at trade shows and industry events.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Sales and Business Development, with a strong track record of achieving revenue and growth targets in hospitality or luxury services.
- Experience in Sales Operations, including pipeline management, sales reporting, forecasting, and use of CRM systems.
- Strong Customer Service orientation, with the ability to build long-term client relationships and deliver personalized service to high-end customers.
- Proven Team Management skills, including leading, coaching, and developing sales professionals toward shared goals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with fluency in English;
Italian and additional languages are an advantage. - Solid analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with comfort working with data to guide decisions and optimize sales performance.
- Experience in luxury hospitality, travel, or related sectors preferred, with knowledge of international markets and distribution channels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Venice, travel for client meetings and events as needed, and maintain flexibility in working hours based on business needs.
