About the Opportunity
We are currently supporting a leading Spanish banking client in the expansion of its Code Modernization team and are looking for an experienced Senior Banksphere Engineer to join a strategic transformation program.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the modernization of the bank’s digital ecosystem, acting as the technical bridge between legacy banking platforms and a modern microservices architecture based on Spring Boot and Angular.
The successful candidate will be responsible for adapting and enhancing business logic within the Banksphere environment, enabling financial products across digital channels, and supporting the safe migration and decommissioning of legacy journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, adapt, and optimize transactional workflows and business logic within the Banksphere ecosystem.
- Configure and enhance Banksphere layers to enable banking products such as Mortgages, Savings Accounts, and other financial services across digital channels.
- Analyze, support, and safely decommission legacy application journeys while ensuring business continuity and minimizing operational risk.
- Collaborate with Technical Business Analysts, Architects, and Modern Stack Development teams to define API contracts and map legacy data structures.
- Configure and maintain business rules, validation logic, transactional restrictions, and alerting mechanisms within Banksphere.
- Support the coexistence of legacy and modern platforms during the migration process.
- Contribute to solution design discussions and provide expertise on Banksphere capabilities and limitations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience working extensively with the Banksphere platform.
- Strong background in banking transformation projects involving Banksphere.
- Experience with one or more of the following banking domains:
- Global Position consolidation
- Customer authentication and security flows
- Digital onboarding processes
- Understanding of modern integration concepts and technologies, including:
- REST APIs
- JSON
- Microservices architectures
- Proven experience supporting migrations from legacy banking applications to modern web and digital channels.
- Professional English proficiency (B2 level or higher).
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Host/Mainframe environments, including:
- COBOL/CICS
- DB2
- Data mapping and integration
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
- Previous experience in large-scale banking modernization or digital transformation programs.
