Position Overview The Senior Italian-Speaking Genetic Counselor will serve as a subject matter expert in inherited genetic disorders and play a strategic role in supporting patients, clinicians, and internal cross-functional teams. This position requires deep expertise in genetic counseling, rare diseases, and molecular diagnostics, combined with exceptional communication and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in clinical genetics, biotechnology, or diagnostics and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Provide expert pre-test and post-test genetic counseling services to patients and families in Italian and English. Interpret complex genetic test results and explain clinical implications, inheritance patterns, and risk assessments. Support healthcare professionals with test utilization, variant interpretation, and inherited disease education. Act as a senior clinical resource for internal teams including Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Commercial, and Research teams. Lead patient support and rare disease education initiatives across Italian-speaking regions. Collaborate with laboratories, clinicians, and external partners to optimize patient pathways and testing strategies. Contribute to the development of scientific, educational, and training materials for healthcare providers and patients. Support clinical studies, patient identification programs, registries, and market development initiatives where applicable. Mentor junior genetic counselors and provide guidance on complex clinical cases. Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, regulatory, and privacy standards, including GDPR requirements. Stay current with emerging developments in genomics, inherited disease therapeutics, and precision medicine. Required Qualifications Master's degree in Genetic Counseling, Medical Genetics, Human Genetics, Genomics, or related field. Board certification in Genetic Counseling (ABGC, EBMG, or equivalent). Fluency in Italian and English (written and verbal). Minimum 5+ years of experience in genetic counseling, preferably within inherited diseases, rare diseases, or molecular diagnostics. Strong expertise in genomic testing technologies, variant interpretation, and hereditary disease management. Experience working within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostic laboratory, or healthcare environments. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with both patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to manage complex clinical discussions with empathy and professionalism. Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
