Amazon - where builders can build! We’re looking for a smart, customer-obsessed innovator and owner to join our Operations Team.

Purview of a Team Lead: Team Lead, Operations is responsible for managing a team and facilitating flow of information across multiple stakeholders to resolve any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. The candidate should have a basic understanding of the logistics space and should be able to communicate clearly in written and oral form. They should be able to develop process improvements, drive them through completion, and own associated change management.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a shift (Day/Night), constantly identifying opportunities to improve team performance and enact change management.
  • Develop and/or refer to performance metrics to drive team performance and business results.
  • Identify the business impact of trends and make data-backed decisions.
  • Communicate with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Finance, Ops Excellence, Fulfillment Centers).
  • Escalate problems or variances in information and data to relevant owners and follow through on resolutions.
  • Pull data from numerous databases (Excel, Access, SQL, or other systems) and perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed (plus).
  • Define, build, and execute transportation processes from FC to customers leveraging the Sort Center network.
  • Hire, train, and build a highly motivated workforce for the SC teams, meeting operational requirements and sustaining high quality and productivity.
  • Coordinate with Finance, CS, FC, and Projects teams on matters related to SC operations.
  • Continuously improve SC processes, attain sustained performance standards, and initiate improvements to enhance quality, reduce waste, and eliminate unnecessary work.
  • Analyze data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improve performance.
  • Implement formal process control and improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen (Six Sigma).
  • Manage day-to-day floor operations, ensure SOPs are followed, monitor key metrics, conduct audits, enforce mechanisms, and motivate the team for maximum efficiency and output.
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ year(s) of customer-facing experience in warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Excel.
