The role of Assistant Chief Engineer involves managing multiple technical areas (Design,Battery Management Systems, Testing, Safety) to achieve project targets. Key Responsibilities: Technical Department Management: Oversee Design, Battery Management Systems, Testing, Safety departments. Ensure engagement of relevant technical roles in key decisions. Conduct periodic technical meetings to establish information flow and priorities. Technical Specifications and Recommendations: Deliver technical specifications in coordination with engineering departments. Balance product specifications with customer requests, considering time and costs. Provide technical recommendations, identify issues, and offer root cause analysis and mitigation plans. Bill of Material/Configuration Management: Coordinate Bill of Material and configuration management, including change requests. Collaborate with Propulsion System Family Manager, engineering departments, suppliers, and manufacturing. Budget Monitoring: Monitor spending in relation to the budget for engineering/design efforts and industrial costs. Coordinate engineering cost evaluations for budgeting or extra spending requests. Engineering Development Plan: Define the engineering development plan, collecting macro and micro-planning activities from technical departments. Benchmarking and Innovation: Promote benchmarking analysis of competitors' solutions. Ensure product design aligns with or exceeds industry standards. Promote patenting of new design/technological solutions. Skills and Qualifications: Strong leadership and coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple technical departments and ensure effective communication. Experience in delivering technical specifications and recommendations. Proficiency in budget monitoring and cost evaluation. Knowledge of industry standards and benchmarking practices. Innovative mindset with a focus on patenting new solutions Requirements: Fluent in written and spoken English Master Degree in Engineering or Physics Knowledge/interest in electric vehicles technologies, transportation energy transition and related trends Innovative mindset with a focus on patenting new solutions. Good communication skills and ability to easily operate in an international, multicultural environment Problem-solving skills and a knowledge of Project Management Ability to rapidly react in a changing technical and planning environment Strong target/result oriented approach Willingness to travel within Italy and abroad
