Job Description Summary Location: Ivrea, Italy #onsite

Role Purpose Lead and serves the Engineering organization for TRD RLT, which is responsible to establish, maintain and improve the engineering processes with respect to buildings, equipment, utilities and energy. The Engineering Lead is also responsible to provide provision of engineering related tools and systems (calibration, engineering database, CMMS, Comos)

Responsibilities Responsibility for design, execution and hand-over of investment major projects within cost, time schedule, quality, and functionality within area of technical responsibility. Ensure that equipment, infrastructure, and investment projects are fully operational, meet regulatory GMP and HSE (including radioprotection) compliance through efficient, effective, compliant and innovative maintenance. Responsible for leading the engineering / maintenance organization at site and ensures that equipment, infrastructure, and building are fully operational, meet regulatory-, GMP -and HSE -compliance and are further developed to meet future requirements.

Main Activities Strategy

Manage and execute projects in alignment with key local and global stakeholders and ensure projects on site are developed through their various stages of scope, definition, approval, and implementation

Responsible for the management/execution of all site investment projects according to asset life cycle management and project schedules, time, cost, functionality, and quality

Ensure state of the art technical solutions according compliance standards and HSE regulations including radioprotection regulations

Responsible to develop / maintain Engineering site strategy plan (Capex Plan, recapitalization of equipment, budgeting, etc.) and oversight of its implementation.

Responsible for the technical availability, reliability, and condition of the production plants.

Lead sharing and leveraging of best practices and expertise within the Novartis engineering community

Lead the implementation of technology strategy and the approved equipment standards and project execution standards

Leadership & Organization

Be available, accountable, decisive, honest and trustworthy to a group of subordinate specialists

Plan resources for maintenance / calibration - Monitor and control backlogs of maintenance / calibration work orders - Select vendor / contractor

Ensure technical training of Engineering personnel: training curricula, training execution

Quality & Compliance

Support internal and external audits

Ensure Compliance with Quality Manual/ Quality Modules/ GOPs.

Maintenance & Calibration

Drive/ improve technical availability, reliability, and condition of assets

Develop, monitor and improve KPI for engineeringEstablish cost efficient repair and maintenance processes in compliance with local regulations, HSE, GMP

Define and execute asset strategy and proper asset lifecycle management

Manage maintenance improvement projects and initiatives

Create and control maintenance/ calibration budget, drive efficiencies

Ideal Background Education (minimum/desirable) Degree in industrial field engineering or equivalent. Master’s degree is desirable.

Languages Fluent written and spoken Italian and English

Experience/Professional requirement

10 years in Plant Engineering or similar

Leadership experience (successful project management) on major investments

Excellent project management skills including contract management and project appraisal/ financial knowledge

Excellent communication skills, ability to effective present complex ideas and solutions to executive management, technical experts, and regional/local teams

In-depth technical knowledge in pharmaceutical processes, specifically aseptic processes and equipment

Wide interdisciplinary knowledge and experience in international and multi-disciplinary complex environments
