Director of Human Resources – Luxury Hospitality Asset | Venice, Italy

We have been exclusively retainer to conduct a confidential search for an experienced Director of Human Resources to join one of Italy’s most prestigious luxury hospitality assets, located in the iconic city of Venice.

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a landmark property combining heritage, international visibility, and strong investment backing, playing a key role in shaping the people strategy and organisational culture of the hotel. You will act as a key business partner to the General Manager and ownership, driving cultural transformation, strengthening leadership capability, and ensuring alignment between people strategy and business objectives

The Opportunity:

As Director of Human Resources, you will lead the full HR function of the property, overseeing talent strategy, employee relations, organisational development, and HR operations.

This is a highly strategic and hands-on role, offering strong exposure to ownership and senior leadership, and the opportunity to actively contribute to the evolution of the organisation.

A key focus of the role will be driving a cultural transformation, bringing greater agility, flexibility, and engagement across teams within a well-established environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

HR Leadership & Strategy

· Lead the people strategy of the property in alignment with ownership and corporate objectives

· Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and leadership team on all people-related matters

· Drive organisational development and support leadership capability across departments

Culture, Engagement & Change Management:

· Lead cultural transformation initiatives to evolve the organisational mindset and ways of working

· Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and engaged workplace culture

· Support change management processes and drive adoption across teams

Talent Management & Development:

· Oversee talent acquisition, succession planning, and performance management processes

· Strengthen leadership pipelines and internal development frameworks

· Drive Learning & Development initiatives aligned with business needs

Employee Relations & Compliance:

· Lead employee relations, ensuring alignment with Italian labour law and best practices

· Manage complex workforce environments, including disciplinary processes and negotiations where relevant

· Ensure full compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks

HR Operations & Workforce Planning:

· Oversee HR operations including payroll, budgeting, and workforce planning

· Ensure efficient HR processes, reporting, and data-driven decision making

· Align HR metrics and KPIs with overall business performance

Stakeholder & Corporate Alignment:

· Act as the key liaison with corporate HR and ownership

· Ensure alignment between property-level execution and broader organisational strategy

· Provide insight and reporting to support strategic decision-making

What We Are Looking For:

This role requires a commercially minded HR leader with strong hospitality experience and the ability to operate in a high-profile, evolving environment.

You will likely bring:

· Significant experience in senior HR leadership roles within luxury hospitality

· Proven ability to drive cultural transformation and organisational change

· Strong background in employee relations, compliance, and HR governance

· Experience in both operational and strategic HR leadership

· Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills

· A hands-on approach combined with strategic vision

· Experience within international hospitality groups is highly valued

Qualifications

· Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

· Fluent Italian and English required

· Additional HR certifications are highly valued
