Descrizione:
PRIMARY FUNCTION
- Responsible for managing, coordinating and executing vehicle emission testing activities using Portable Emission Measurement Systems (PEMS), across Development, Homologation and In‑Service Conformity scopes.
- Ensures efficient operation of the PEMS testing organization, guaranteeing accurate emission measurements, reliable data analysis and compliant test reporting, while maintaining equipment availability, calibration and alignment with regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSABILITIES
- Execute and/or supervise certification tests in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. R85, VECTO – Reg. EU 2017/2400)
- Manage daily operations of the PEMS testing team (technicians and engineers), including planning, workload allocation and performance monitoring
- Coordinate execution of on‑road emission testing activities for: Development, Homologation / Certification (RDE), In‑Service Conformity (ISC) and In‑Service Monitoring (ISM)
- Ensure proper vehicle instrumentation, test execution and data acquisition according to defined procedures
- Supervise data analysis and validate emission results prior to official reporting
- Ensure generation of PEMS test reports compliant with regulatory and internal standards
- Manage and optimize PEMS equipment fleet, ensuring availability, maintenance and calibration
- Oversee calibration certificates and measurement traceability of emission analyzers
- Guarantee test quality, repeatability and robustness of measurement results
- Support homologation and certification teams during regulatory approval processes
- Act as interface with Engineering, Homologation and Quality functions
- Ensure readiness for audits (IATF, ISO 17025 related vehicle testing requirements)
- Monitor and improve operational performance (efficiency, utilization, lead time)
- Lead continuous improvement actions on testing processes, tools and methodologies
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field
- Strong knowledge of PEMS systems and emission measurement principles (NDIR, CLD, etc.)
- Understanding of vehicle emission regulations (RDE, ISC, ISM frameworks)
- Experience in vehicle or engine testing activities (5-7 years minimum)
- Knowledge of instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis methodologies
- Understanding of quality standards and testing validation processes
- Experience in managing operational teams in technical environments
- Ability to coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Homologation)
- Strong problem‑solving mindset with focus on data quality and reliability
- Good communication skills in an international environment
- Language Skills: Italian Fluent and English Fluent
DIGITAL SKILLS
- Data analysis tools (Excel advanced, AVL Concerto or equivalent)
- PEMS data acquisition and emission analysis systems
- Basic knowledge of test automation and vehicle instrumentation systems
- Reporting tools and document management systems
