TCU Vehicle Line Release Engineer (Telematics & Connected Services)
We’re looking for a TCU Vehicle Line Release Engineer to join a high-performing Connectivity organisation within a major global automotive OEM. The role sits at the intersection of software engineering, electrical architecture, validation, supplier management, and program execution — owning the end‑to‑end delivery and release of Telematic Control Unit software across multiple vehicle lines and Connected Services programs, from development through to vehicle launch and beyond.

Responsibilities
- Own TCU readiness across assigned vehicle lines and launch program
- Coordinate the development, testing, and release of TCU software components in line with vehicle milestones and connected services roadmap
- Ensure alignment between TCU, backend systems, data pipelines, subscriptions, OTA flows, and mobile app interface
- Track software and hardware maturity across development, validation, and launch phase
- Manage part‑number releases and ensure full traceability for SOP milestones
- Lead supplier follow‑up, requirement clarification, technical reviews, and defect resolution
- Coordinate with EE Architecture, validation, integration, quality, manufacturing, and plant teams
- Support launch‑gating activities, defect triage, root‑cause analysis, and crisis resolution
- Support production plants with EOL procedures, diagnostics, installation guidelines, and post‑launch improvements
- Collect and analyse logs from testing and plant environments, performing first‑level triage
- Maintain clear product backlog prioritisation and contribute to process and tooling improvement
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field; 3+ years of experience in automotive electrical architecture, connected systems, telematics, or software‑based product engineering
- Good understanding of automotive connectivity architectures and TCU/telematics systems
- Familiarity with CAN bus and Ethernet
- Understanding of cloud systems, connected services, and vehicle software ecosystems
- Knowledge of software development lifecycles and CI/CD workflows
- Experience with requirements management and change‑control processes
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional communication skills
- Experience with TCU integration, Connected Services, or OTA systems is a strong plus
- Familiarity with GitHub‑based development pipelines is advantageous
- Understanding of PDP, DAC, CVVR, SRR, part‑number creation, and automotive SOP cycles is a plus
- Hands‑on experience with Jira, Confluence, RTC, and PLM tools is beneficial
- Exposure to AI‑assisted tools for defect triage, code review, or process efficiency
