About the job

We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to join a high-impact Software Engineering organisation within a major global automotive OEM.

The role sits at the centre of a large-scale software platform programme — owning end-to-end planning and delivery across High-Performance Computers (HPCs) and Zone Controllers, the MAKE controllers powering software across 14 brands worldwide. This is a role for someone who drives decisions, aligns organisations, and delivers.

Engagement details

  • Contract type: Permanent or freelance
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Work model: Hybrid
  • Benefits: Competitive package;
high-visibility role within a major software-defined vehicle programme

Responsibilities

  • Own planning and delivery of software built across HPC and Zone Controller programmes
  • Drive architecture, engineering, and integration decisions across multiple teams and organisations
  • Establish business processes, policies, and success metrics — and continually improve them.
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues before they become programme blockers.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs at scale.
  • Foster constructive dialogue, harmonise discordant views, and lead resolution of contentious issues.
  • Partner with Software Architects, Systems Engineers, and Developers to align on requirements and drive adoptions.
  • Communicate clearly across all levels — from engineering teams to senior leadership

Qualifications

  • 7+ years working directly with engineering teams
  • 5+ years in technical product or programme managment
  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional programmes and coordinating release schedules
  • Strong ability to manage complexity, resolve conflict, and drive delivery in large-scale organisations
  • Automotive or embedded software background is a plus
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, Jira, Confluence, or PLM tools is advantageous
  • Experience with platform-level programme management across multi-brand environments is beneficial
