RINA is currently recruiting for aTrapani Senior Marine Surveyorto join its office in Trapani, Italy within theMediterranean and Africa MarineDivision.Mission The Senior Surveyor serves as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles. The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.Key AccountabilitiesSpecialist ExpertiseServe as a subject matter expert on maritime Rules and Regulations, ensuring all surveying activities comply with the latest statutory and classification requirements.Monitor evolving industry standards and contribute recommendations for updating procedures and safety protocols to enhance operational effectiveness.Inspection and ReportingPerform detailed surveys and inspections of classed vessels, offshore installations, and other marine assets, verifying compliance with established regulations.Prepare comprehensive, precise technical reports within designated timeframes to document findings and support certification processes.Leadership and CoordinationOrganise and manage surveying schedules, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and timely completion of ntor and guide junior surveyors, fostering professional development and maintaining team performance standards.Client RelationsMaintain proactive communication with clients to address concerns, resolve complex technical issues, and promote satisfaction with survey outcomes.Act as a trusted advisor, offering expert solutions aligned with client and regulatory expectations.Training and DevelopmentDeliver training programs and technical support to less experienced colleagues, enhancing collective expertise within the surveying team.Engage in continuous professional learning to remain current with industry advancements and best practices.Quality AssuranceEnsure all surveying activities uphold RINA’s quality benchmarks, maintaining consistency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across all inspections.Ethical ConductAdhere to the highest ethical standards, promoting integrity, fairness, and transparency in all professional undertakings.Education Master’s Degree in Naval EngineeringQualificationsMinimum three years’ direct experience as a Surveyor or at least six years in engineering, inspection, or related survey roles within an IACS Classification Society.Advanced understanding of RINA’s technical strategy within the marine sector, coupled with a Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering.Proficient English communication skills suitable for completing classification, statutory certification processes, and related services effectively.Demonstrated capability to interpret and apply RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations and internal safety petence in reading engineering plans and comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding and operational practices.Experience in conducting new building surveys, in-service ship surveys, marine management system audits, and related certification assessments.Practical knowledge of ship engineering systems, machinery, and relevant computer software applications essential for survey activities.Strong analytical skills and collaborative mindset to engage in multidisciplinary project petenciesWORKPLACE DYNAMICS - Resourcefulness in shaping progress and working efficiently.FORESIGHT & INSIGHT - Context awareness adopting a systemic perspective and informed decision making.PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT - Ownership for life, work and results, striving to grow professionally and personally.INTERPERSONAL INFLUENCE - Skills and strategies we use to interact effectively with others.DOMAIN & BUSINESS ACUMEN - Applying a scientific approach and critical thinking in operations and solution development within area of expertise.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement At RINA, we endeavor to create a work environment where every single person is valued and encouraged to develop new ideas.
