Data Centre Engineering Operations
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. They support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to help deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
This position is the primary operational resource to support ADSIPL within its owned and operated Data Centers in India, providing a central point of ownership for the overall hands‑on management of the Mechanical, Electrical (M&E), and other critical infrastructure across the portfolio. Location will be determined and may be several India locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of all Data Center changes, events, incidents, and problems from beginning to end, overseeing investigation, root cause analysis, and follow‑up resolution actions.
- Responsible for ensuring maintenance and repairs of a Data Center (Electrical/Mechanical/Fire Suppression Systems) are planned and executed to the best interest of the business.
- Responsible for Asset and Inventory management.
- Develop and maintain method statements, SOPs, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation.
- Ensure standardization and consistency with best‑in‑class operating practices (technical writing skills and automation).
- Develop and deliver regular engineering reports and ensure adherence to contracted deliverables, including SLAs and KPIs.
- Provide hands‑on facility support where required (installation of new equipment, decommissioning, replacement of faulty equipment, internal audits, etc.).
- Oversee technical compliance auditing and the effective, timely close‑out of corrective action plans.
- Manage information flow during incidents while providing regular updates to management.
- Review incident reports, document periodic trend summaries, and provide updates and recommended actions to management.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in data center or mission‑critical facilities (e.g., hospital, military, public safety).
- Knowledge of electrical systems in critical Data Center operations, including but not limited to utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, VFI Class UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, ATS, STS, SLA/VRLA batteries, diesel/gas turbine generators, surge suppression, active harmonic filtering, battery monitoring systems, branch circuit monitoring systems, or SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations, including but not limited to CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, storage tanks, chemical systems, heat exchangers, piping systems, pumps, valves, duct systems, fans, or dampers.
