Are you ready to help Amazon deliver world class service in its transportation operations? Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities such as checking in trailers, traffic flow, internal communications with operations, conduct yard audits, complete applicable driver training programs, and operate multiple vehicle types to support Amazon’s transportation network.
Responsibilities
Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations, and enforce safety measures and policies for all vehicle operators and visitors.
Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure trailers arrive and depart on time and maintain workflow for buildings.
Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or in the yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
Learn Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and comply with company policies regarding size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting, break periods, etc.
Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks, and obey all applicable traffic laws and weather/road conditions.
Support the business as needed by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations.
Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment (pallet jack, etc.).

Basic Qualifications
Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
High school or equivalent diploma.
Be 21 years of age or older and able to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English.
Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and ascend/descend stairs.
Work 40 hours per week and overtime as required.
Work a flexible schedule/shift that may include weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Completion of Career Choice Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Course.
Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
Ability to follow and enforce safety measures and policies for all vehicle operators and yard visitors.
