Scope of Position:Safety Engineering role supporting Applied Materials’ R&D and manufacturing operationsWork closely with site management in R&D and manufacturing and other EHS staff to drive Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, ensure regulatory compliance and promote continuous improvementEnsures compliance with required EHS codes, standards and regulations. Act as a liaison with local, regional or national regulatory authoritiesEHS Training capabilities & experience conducting training for employees and managementEnsures proper investigations of EHS incidents conducted and drive corrective actions to closureProvides management with updates and escalation on projects/programs. Maintain communication channel with site/location functionsInterfaces with internal stakeholders regarding EHS aspects with ability to work with cross functional teams to accomplish goals and objectivesManage consultants/contractors used to support the EHS programs including development of scopes of work, project management and budget management. Ensures that all work is assigned appropriately and that results are obtained and evaluatedEducation and Experience:Bachelor or master’s degree in the field of (electrical/ mechanical/electronics) Engineering or comparable education desiredUtaly Certificate as occupational safety engineer RSPP is requiredMinimum of 5 years professional experience in an EHS function in a comparable industry (R+D manufacturing operations)Knowledge of EHS legislation and implementation in ItalyExperience with general EHS auditing to identify opportunities for improvement and provide suitable recommendations for corrective actionsGood knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPointStrong communication and presentation skills in an international business environmentReadiness for occasional travelling from time to timeFluent English and Italian (written and verbal)Proven experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and tools to enhance decision-making, automate workflows, improve productivity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.We offer:An international and dynamic environment in a global companyA challenging and varied function with a lot of personal autonomy and responsibility
