Experteer Overview
In this role you lead the end‑to‑end governance of terminal equipment and technical assets to ensure reliability, safety, and cost‑efficient lifecycle management. You align engineering, maintenance, and projects with HHLA Group standards and local regulations, reporting to the COO. You drive asset strategy, maintenance governance, and technical risk management while coordinating with cross‑functional teams on expansion and modernization initiatives. This is a hands‑on leadership role shaping capital investment and operational readiness for growth.

- Define and implement terminal equipment strategy (acquisition, utilisation, maintenance, refurbishment, end‑of‑life)
- Own Asset Roadmap and align with volume growth and LG expansion
- Balance owned, leased, and rented equipment for flexibility
- Drive standardisation per HHLA Group guidelines
- Establish preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance frameworks
- Approve annual maintenance plans and monitor equipment availability
- Govern outsourced maintenance with KPI/SLA governance and cost control
- Act as final authority on technical deviations, emergency repairs, and availability trade‑offs
- Ensure HSSE compliance and participate in safety culture in maintenance and contractor environments
- Utilise asset and maintenance data systems (CMMS/MMS) for performance management
- Lead technical and equipment‑related projects (new equipment, interfaces, modernization, automation, sustainability) and coordinate with LG expansion
- Oversee CAPEX and OPEX related to equipment; prepare investment proposals and lifecycle cost analyses
- Monitor budgets, variance, and implement corrective actions
- Interface with COO, HHLA International, OEMs, service providers, and regulators
- Develop technical leadership and succession planning within the team
- Support HR in workforce planning and training strategies
- Coordinate with group on benchmarking and standardisation
- Ensure smooth handover of projects into maintenance operations
Responsabilità
- Bachelor in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum 10 years in port, logistics, or heavy industrial maintenance environments
- At least 5 years in senior leadership managing multidisciplinary teams and outsourced providers
- Strong expertise in terminal equipment (Ro‑Ro, container, yard, rail)
- Proven asset lifecycle management and CAPEX planning experience
- Knowledge of ISO management systems and regulatory compliance
- Strong maintenance digitalisation and performance systems knowledge
