Global Chemical Engineering Expert
As a Global Chemical Engineering Expert you will act as a worldwide subject‑matter expert, coach project teams, evaluate local experts’ competencies, oversee the engineering design phase of capex projects, implement standardized designs and equipment, and align with COE, operations and functional stakeholders to enhance technical know‑how.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the engineering design phase of capex projects in Chemical Engineering
Provide support to project teams at each phase of projects (design, vendor selection, FAT, commissioning and startup)
Challenge projects and/or technical decisions
Accountable for engineering design standard package and standardized equipment in Chemical Engineering
Deliver engineering design methodology standards; update standards to be consistent with Givaudan initiatives
Develop and maintain the documentation repository in Chemical Engineering
Liaise with CoE functions, IM&S and divisional functions to ensure standards are applied to new projects
Scout and identify innovations related to equipment, fostering step changes that improve operations and sustainability KPIs
Ensure transfer of best practices from local organisation and embed them into standards
Animate knowledge transfer between local, regional, global and external resources
Supply technical expertise to operations and functional stakeholders; actively participate in global programmes
Scout and identify equipment vendors; qualify new vendors in collaboration with operations and IM&S to reduce dependence on current suppliers
Coach and develop project teams; evaluate and provide feedback on local experts’ competencies
Create and maintain a global network of experts within Givaudan
Your professional profile includes
MSc in Engineering or equivalent
Fluent in English; knowledge of French or other languages is beneficial
15+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, maintenance or plant operations
Experience in fine/speciality chemistry preferred
Capex Project Management experience in the field is required
MS Office literacy
LEAN/TPM/6‑sigma certification; GMP, EHS certifications beneficial
