Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Private law.

Ca’ Foscari is looking for an Assistant Professor of Private law capable of inspiring students to become game‑changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.

The candidate must be capable of fulfilling the research and teaching assignments (also in English) in the field of Private Law, with specific regard to the areas of personal rights, contract law and new technologies.

The researcher will be involved in the research activities of the area of Private law within the Department of Economics, particularly in the areas of family law and personal rights, contracting in asymmetric relationships, the law of new technologies and artificial intelligence. The researcher shall demonstrate cultural solidity and awareness of the dynamics underlying the evolving nature of legal systems.

Regarding the teaching activities, the researcher will be required to deliver core curriculum courses and carry out teaching activities consistent with Private Law (both in Italian and in English).

Teaching and training activities within the PhD programme in Law, Market and Person will also be required. This must be accompanied by support for students throughout their university studies, and in their final thesis.

The candidate is expected to participate actively in the activities of Private Law already undergoing in the Department of Economics and to play an active role in organisational activities.

The position will be in the Department of Economics, a centre that carries out innovative research in fields such as economics, finance, statistics and mathematics, covering all the legal, social, international, and environmental aspects of these disciplines.

The Department has received a “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the department to receive additional state funding to develop innovative projects on Economic and Risk Analytics for public policies.
