Associate R&D Director

Experteer Overview

You will lead planning and execution for the R&D department in EMENA, coordinating with US teams. As a senior member of the leadership team, you guide cross-functional programs, manage international staff and facilities, and liaise with government and private collaborators. You will author technical papers and defend patents, represent the business unit at company-level meetings, and drive the growth of the team and KN products. You will mentor personnel, recruit talent, and assess performance to align with strategic goals. This role offers the chance to shape global R&D strategy, foster collaboration, and deliver impactful research leadership.

• Develop and execute goals, strategies and tactics as part of the broader strategic plan
• Lead and manage cross-functional programs with international scope
• Liaise with collaborators including government and private sectors domestically and internationally
• Provide accurate and timely project status/updates to BU and other units
• Manage facilities for the KNE and liaise with other business units
• Write technical papers, peer-reviewed papers, and patents
• Represent the business unit at company-level meetings and present at scientific meetings
• Manage personnel and resources in EMEA; mentor team for deliverables, planning and tracking
• Perform annual performance reviews; attract, recruit and retain new team members
• Collaborate with executives and senior management to grow the team and company

Responsabilità

• PhD in the specific area of expertise required
• 10 years of management and leadership experience
• Working knowledge and expert familiarity with the science and production of KN products
• Experience in functional management and planning
• Ability to work independently and manage multidisciplinary teams
• Analytical thinking, innovation, self-motivation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and networking skills
• Passion for scientific investigation and creative thinking
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in English; multilingual a plus
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and bioinformatics
• Travel: Europe and international travel required (up to 20%)
