Position Overview
The QC Technician plays a key role in ensuring that raw materials, intermediates, and finished products consistently meet quality standards. This position performs laboratory testing, inspections, and documentation activities, while supporting compliance with the quality management system and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The role works closely with Production, Logistics, R&D, and other functions to help maintain product quality and process reliability. This position reports to the Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor.
Primary Duties
Carry out quality control activities to ensure accurate testing, timely product release, reliable documentation, and full support for compliance and continuous improvement.
Daily Quality Control Activities
- Perform laboratory tests and inspections on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to support timely and accurate release decisions.
- Accurately record test results and maintain samples, reports, and related quality documentation.
- Monitor laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure they are in good working order, properly calibrated, and supported by current records.
- Follow laboratory safety rules and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Work closely with Production, Logistics, and R&D to support process control, certificates of analysis, and product quality improvements.
- Help review and improve inspection methods, laboratory procedures, and quality practices.
- Take part in training activities to build technical knowledge and maintain awareness of quality standards.
Quality Management System Activities
- Support the implementation and day‑to‑day maintenance of the site quality management system.
- Participate in audits, customer visits, and other quality system activities.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints, internal non-conformities, and deviations, working with cross‑functional teams to identify root causes.
- Support the definition, implementation, and follow‑up of corrective and preventive actions.
- Use quality data and basic statistical analysis to support process improvements and strengthen quality awareness across the site.
Minimum Requirements
- Technical high school diploma in Chemistry or an equivalent qualification.
- Hands‑on experience with physical testing methods such as viscosity, pH, solids content, grit, and color.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions.
- Native‑level Italian or equivalent, with good English communication skills (B2 level).
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience in Quality Control within chemical or other industrial manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and statistical process control.
- Familiarity with SAP or other structured ERP systems.
